Planning Instruction

E-mail this product to a friend

2006

This program lays a foundation for successful planning in the classroom. Veteran teachers give us a glimpse into their lesson-planning processes, sharing tricks and tips they’ve learned along the way. They discuss the creation and constructive use of assessments in instructional design. Viewers learn the art of weaving information from many different sources into one coherent lecture and the science of crafting valid objectives around which they can design their classes.

Once the lesson plans are complete, they’re implemented, allowing viewers to study and learn how plans on paper become lessons in a classroom. Special attention is paid to the developmental stages students pass through as they grow and learn, and to ways teachers can successfully build on the knowledge these young pupils have already gained. All topics discussed are oriented to state and local standards.
