The Key to Social and Emotional Development
Long-time educators and administrators outline the skills and characteristics necessary for anyone who wishes to serve as an effective group worker for school-age children. Top among the NSACA standards are those dealing with human relationships. Our group of experts points out ways in which viewers can build relationships which enable them to provide positive guidance to, and foster cooperation with and among, the students in their care.
We also highlight conflict resolution skills. Experienced group workers share their techniques, focusing particularly on those useful for dealing with children during those difficult ages from nine to twelve. Tricky issues such as relationships are examined too, as are the importance of health and hygiene in developing self-esteem.
