After School Programs

After school programs can provide marvelous opportunities for kids to play, learn and grow both socially and mentally. Indeed, good after school programs are sought after not only because some parents are unable to be with their children when the school day is done, but because many parents want to give their children more time to interact with their teachers and peers in a safe, constructive environment. But to be truly effective, such programs must be well designed and properly implemented. Our series on After School Programs gives teachers and administrators the information and ideas they need to develop excellent programs which will be an asset to their community.
